SUPERVISOR: BUILDING PRINCIPAL/ BUILDINGS & GROUNDS SUPERVISOR

 

JOB OBJECTIVE

• Make the building ready each day for student/public
• Cleaning assigned areas and other duties as needed
• Perform frequent/seasonal duties

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school degree or equivalent
• BCI/FBI Background Check
• Able to walk up and down steps and be on your feet for an 8 hr shift
• Lift at least 50lbs
• Follow instructions as assigned
• Work assigned overtime as needed including Saturdays and Sundays
• OVERTIME IS MANDATORY FOR THIS POSITION WHEN ASSIGNED

• Repair equipment, power/hand tools, electric floor scrubbing machine, and other cleaning equipment
• Computer
• Printer/Copier
• Phone system
• Vaccum cleaner
• Snow Blower
• Back pack blower
• Snow shovel

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report regularly at assigned time
• Unlock doors, turn off alarm systems, check lights, check for vandalism, check temperature and heating sys
•  Maintain inventories of building equipment and supplies
• Frequent or seasonal duties are to include
•  washing windows, clean and wash furniture, rugs, runners, and carpeting, scrubbing and waxing floors, , trimming and cleaning around building exterior, shrubbery and planters
• Clearing of walks and entrance ways, shoveling snow, removal of ice and debris
• Clean and oil vents, exhaust fans, motors, and circulating pumps
• Oil pump motors, septic systems, drain moisture from air compressors 
• Check boilers and heating systems
• Repair furniture, desks, chairs, tables by replacing screws, glides, etc.
• Make minor repairs and adjustments to building equipment
• Assist in setting up gym, all-purpose room, or special areas for activities such as assemblies, programs, and athletic or intramural events
• Check with incoming custodian(s) to report any messages or problems

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform other duties as directed
• Comply with all Northwest Local Board of Education policies and procedures

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Occasional operation of school equipment under inclement weather conditions
• Occasional work with equipment/devices involving electricity, natural gas, and hydraulic fluids
• Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue
